Mutual Cause Partner - The Trust for Public Land

The Mutual worked hard to identify the blend of cause areas that will have the greatest impact on our environment. We then scoured thousands of nonprofits to find the organizations that are the best at what they do.

About The Trust for Public Land

The Trust for Public Land conserves land for people to enjoy as parks, gardens, and other natural places. We believe no American should live more than a 10-minute walk from a place to play, roam, or experience nature. And yet in some cities, as many as two out of three children literally have no place to play outdoors: no nearby parks, gardens, or playgrounds.

As the nation’s leading conservation nonprofit working in cities, we are addressing this critical need by creating parks where they are needed most, creating places people love and shaping the future of American cities—and American lives—for generations to come.

Areas of Focus
  • Parks for People
With your help, we can put healthy, safe parks and playgrounds within walking distance of families across America — and take a big step toward reducing obesity and improving health.
  • Working Lands
As pressure to develop agricultural land increases, we’re working hard to protect America’s farms and ranches that support land-based livelihoods and rural ways of life.
  • Climate Conservation
Forest-based projects actually reduce the amount of carbon that’s in the atmosphere. These projects sequester carbon dioxide emissions from the atmosphere and have many co-benefits for the community and local wildlife.
  • Natural Lands
We’re helping communities across the country protect the rare wild places that provide habitat for wildlife, clean drinking water, and opportunities to explore the natural world.
